Care Philosophy: Many years ago, when I was contemplating going into medicine as a career I was often asked why. My response was typically because I wanted to help others. Throughout my career, that has been my goal ultimately to help those patients seeking my care. I have found it is best to begin by treating the patient as a person, an individual. Each patient should be treated with respect. I try to provide the same high-quality care for all of my patients regardless of age, health status, or other factors.

Care Philosophy: Internal medicine allows me to have extensive hospital training with a focus strictly on adult medicine, which is my preference. My special area of interest leans towards diagnosis and treatment of acute and sub acute illnesses. I am committed to providing all patients with comprehensive and quality healthcare in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere with a focus on effective communication and patient education.

Biography: Caitlin Farmer, APRN, is a certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with Beacon Internal Medicine in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Ms. Farmer received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Honors from University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont. She then earned her Master of Science in Nursing at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., with a focus on Adult Gerontology Primary Care.Ms. Farmer is nationally board-certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Adult Gerontology Primary Care and has additional training in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS). She is a member of The Golden Key Society and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society.Ms. Farmer is committed to providing exceptional patient care and is excited to be part of the Beacon Internal Medicine team.

Care Philosophy: Dr. Whipple has a specific interest in the primary care of cancer survivors, as well as patients with active cancer. Much of her research focuses on the relationship between cancer and the treatment of chronic diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, depression, and anxiety.
