Biography: Alphonso Scotti was born and raised in New York City. He spent years in biomedical research prior to graduating from Touro College PA program in 2006. He trained at Beth Israel Medical Center where he started his career in Emergency Medicine. Alphonso relocated to Sag Harbor, NY where he has been practicing Urgent Care and Primary Care. Mr. Scotti has particular interests in preventative and integrative medicine as well as treating his patients urgent care needs.

Biography: Dr. Jamil was born and raised in Northern Virginia. She is the eldest daughter of first-generation Pakistani immigrants and the first person in her family to attend college and medical school. She majored in Biology with a minor in Religion and obtained her Bachelors of Science degree from George Washington University in Washington, DC. She went on to achieve her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC and completed her training in internal medicine at Icahn School of Medicine Mount Sinai in New York. Biography: Dr. Margaret Hoffman went to Harvard College and graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston, MA receiving her MD in 1993. Her Internship and Residency were at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Brighton, MA and the Lahey Clinic Medical Center, Burlington, MA. He obtained his MD degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, andcompleted his residency in Family Medicine at the Mount Sinai Beth Israel Residency in Urban Family Medicine in 2006. Dr. Cohen then practiced as a primary care physician and eventually also as a site medical director at Open Door, a federally qualified health center in Westchester County. Care Philosophy: I am a nephrologist with a specialization in hypertension. My field of interest is obstetric nephrology. My practice and research endeavors focus on the care of women with hypertension and/or kidney disease who are currently pregnant or planning to be pregnant. Preeclampsia is a hypertensive disease of pregnancy that can have devastating effects on mother and child. Although this syndrome dates back to the times of Hippocrates, modern medicine has yet to fully understand all of its mechanisms to be able to stop them. At the Weill Cornell Hypertension Center, our reseearch team studies women with hypertension during pregnancy in order to help shed more light into possible biomarkers, mechanisms and therapies for preeclampsia. Pregnancy, especially when it is complicated by hypertension and/or kidney disease, can be a very trying time. Our philosophy is to partner with the obstetricians to help our patients with compassionate and state-of-the-art care.

Care Philosophy: Dr. LaScalea completed his residency in Primary Care/Internal Medicine at New York Weill Cornell Medical Center. His strong interest in community affairs has led him to direct a crisis hotline while in college, as well as work as an educator in adolescent substance abuse prevention. She then went on to study animal behavior and ecology at the University of California at Berkeley where she completed a Masters degree. She returned to the east coast to the University of Connecticut School of Medicine where she received her MD degree. She completed her Internal Medicine residency training at the University of North Carolina Hospitals, Chapel Hill, in 1998, and has been working as a general internist in Manhattan since completion of her training.

Biography: Dr. Baker is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Attending Endocrinologist at Cornell Medical College in New York. He is a graduate of Emory University College and Medical School. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at New York University and a fellowship in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Baker, who himself has type 1 diabetes, has interests which include disease management through education and lifestyle interventions, prevention of type 1 diabetes, and the impact of diabetes on international health. Dr. Baker is involved in numerous global health diabetes projects, and has founded the non-profit organization "Marjorie's Fund" (www.marjoriesfund.org), a type 1 diabetes global initiative dedicated to education, care, and research of type 1 diabetes in the developing world. Biography: Dr. Sidney Stein completed his B.A.degree at New York University-University College in 1972. He received his medical degree from the State University of New York-Downstate Medical Center in 1979. Dr. Stein is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Albert Einstein Medical College where he has held that position since 1994. He was elected as a member of the Medical Board of Beth Israel Medical Center in 1990 and still currently serves in that position. He also served as President of the Board in 2001 and 2002.Dr. Stein was namedin New York Magazine's Best Doctor List from 2001-2008.

Biography: Dr. Mark S. Pecker is an Attending Physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital / Weill Cornell Medical Center (NYPH-WCMC) and is a Professor of Clinical Medicine and a Professor of Clinical Medicine in Physiology and Biophysics at Weill Cornell Medical College. He received his MD from New York University School of Medicine in 1977 and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Affiliated Hospitals, where he served as Chief Resident. He is certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and a Fellow of the American College Physicians.Dr. Pecker is an American Society of Hypertension Hypertension Specialist with expertise in autonomic dysfunction, aortic dissection and secondary and endocrine hypertension. Dr. Pecker has a passion for medical training. He served as the Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency at NYPH-WCMC for 15 years. He remains active in teaching residents and medical students in New York, as well as at Hamad General Hospital and Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar.
